Review: Sydney Kink Festival 2026
With a little careful planning, myself and Mya Tension managed to arrange a little weekends trip across the country to attend this year’s Sydney Kink Festival, and overall it was a really fun experience.
Friday - Threshold @ Our Secret Spot
Friday night saw the weekend kick-off at the incredibly seductive and welcoming venue called Our Secret Spot in Annandale. It’s very well laid out, beautifully decorated and has a nice mix of play and chill out spaces.
Joined by the very creative Hadrian, we spent the majority of the evening in the dungeon play area, either having friendly conversations with other kinksters or watching people play and making the most of the leather couches, spanking benches and St. Andrew’s cross.
The vibe was very intimate, with phones handed in at reception at the start of the evening, it leads to a very safe and secure venue, with roaming members of the Threshold team, meaning that it provides a very good opportunity to explore and enjoy each other.
A mixture of genders and orientations making the most of equipment and private rooms lends itself to be a welcoming venue.
A great start to the weekend.
Saturday - Markets @ The Rex Centre
Oh such sweet temptations!
Saturday saw us at the jam packed Kink Fest markets. Lots of delicious stalls selling a wide range of leather, wooden and latex delights amongst just about everything else a kinkster could wish for.
After a quick whizz through, Mya and I decided to go and grab some brunch so headed to the Cafe de la Fontaine for fresh brew and delicious, and I mean, mouth-wateringly delicious, lemon crepes.
Having topped up the energy levels, and on a bit of a whim, we headed along the Main Street in search of some new ink.
We found ourselves at Max’s Village Tattoo Studio and after some brief negotiations and a coin flip to see who went first, we each settled in for some of Kings Cross tales from the legend that is Rocky, a resident artists with over 42 years experience.
Freshly inked and after a couple of quick cocktails, we made our way back in to the markets and spent a little more time chatting with stall holders and purchasing some new spicy delights, before heading back to our apartments for a quick nap and some food before the evenings shenanigans.
Saturday - Sinful @ The Burdekin Hotel
Saturday night at Kink Fest shifts up a gear with two floors of kink and performers.
Was such a cool vibe, lots of play going on almost all evening and the community is so vibrant and respectful.
As with Friday night the vibe was welcoming and a really good mix of genders, sexualities and experience level. The music was spot on as well.
A special shout out to the Dungeon Monitors who made sure that those who did play, did so safely.
Sunday was a no-no for me, but from the pics I’ve seen it looked like a really good night.
Overall I can definitely recommend SKF as something you should add to your calendar.
